The plants closed. The substations stayed.

InferenceDG turns stranded grid capacity into energized 1–20 MW sites for AI inference. We go where retired power plants and closed mills left their transformers, breakers and transmission rights behind, so tenants come online in months instead of waiting years in an interconnection queue.

Coming soon. Sites, counterparties and the team are shared with investors under NDA.

Simplified one-line diagram of a stranded substation A 138 kV transmission line feeds a breaker, an existing transformer and a 13.8 kV bus. The feeder to the former mill load stays open and dead. A new feeder closes and energizes a 1 to 20 MW inference pod. 52 52 52 52 52 138 kV transmission Existing transformer 138 / 13.8 kV 13.8 kV bus Retired feeder New feeder Former mill load Plant closed Inference pod 1–20 MW

Why stranded power

The expensive part is already built

Substations sized for smelters, refineries and paper mills ran tens to hundreds of megawatts around the clock. When the plant closes, the equipment and the transmission rights usually stay, and so does the headroom in the utility's plans.

Small enough to skip the line

New large-load rules start at 50 to 75 MW and bring special tariffs, study fees and deposits. A 1–20 MW site sits below every one of them and takes ordinary industrial service.

Close to where inference runs

Inference answers users in real time, so it belongs near metros and fiber. Every site is screened for distance to demand and for a utility that can say yes quickly.

Below the large-load line

Hyperscalers compete for gigawatt campuses. Regulators are writing new rules for anything above 50 MW. The band underneath is where we build.

Origination to date

The largest stranded sites are already being converted into AI campuses at gigawatt scale. We work the tier below: carve-outs and mid-size closures that the big buyers pass over.
